ABOUT THE FILM’S EDUCATION PARTNERS
Naledi’s struggle and resilience are not hers alone. To fathom the magnitude of declining elephant populations, conservationists need to understand how many elephants are left on the continent. Elephants Count was born of the Great Elephant Census , the first-ever pan-African survey of savanna elephants conceptualized by philanthropist Paul G. Allen and other conservation partners. The GEC used large-scale research to provide accurate and reliable data about elephant population numbers in order to empower people across Africa as they work to protect elephant populations for the long term.

Naledi: One Little Elephant tells the incredible, true-life story of a baby elephant born into a rescue camp in the wilderness of Botswana. Allen, Jody Allen, Carole Tomko and Ellen Windermuth, this one elephant’s story brings humans and elephants together in a way unlike any film before. Watch the film on PBS: NATURE, Season 36 on October 4.
