ABOUT THE FILM’S EDUCATION PARTNERS
Naledi’s struggle and resilience are not hers alone. To fathom the magnitude of declining elephant populations, conservationists need to understand how many elephants are left on the continent. Elephants Count was born of the Great Elephant Census , the first-ever pan-African survey of savanna elephants conceptualized by philanthropist Paul G. Allen and other conservation partners. The GEC used large-scale research to provide accurate and reliable data about elephant population numbers in order to empower people across Africa as they work to protect elephant populations for the long term.
